Slow Motion Great Tits and Some Blue Tits on a Snowy Day
I apologise to anyone who clicked on the title expecting something other than birds at a bird feeder. That was not my intention… honest.
This footage was taken one late afternoon in February, when the patio was under snow and the light had that proper cold, winter feel.
The Siskins had, presumably, gone off to the pub, leaving the feeder blissfully free for about an hour. The tits took full advantage of the situation. Order was restored, and a more civilised dining experience resumed.
For the technically minded, the footage was shot on a DJI Osmo Action 4 in 4K at 120fps. The camera then does its clever bit and produces a 4x slow motion clip at 30fps.
The original recording ran for about an hour and a half. What you’re seeing here is the edited highlight reel, trimmed down to a more manageable 9½ minutes of entirely legitimate bird-related content.
